Booties for baby Remmy

My neice, as you know, will be having a baby in November.  Below are the "Ugg boots" that I have just finished making for her.

They turned out absolutely adorable.  I love this pattern, not only free, but very simple, even for someone like me.  If you would like to make a pair of your own here is the link:

Not sure if I sewed on the white yarn correctly but it'll have to do.  I think they are perfect just the way they are.

New family member

After having to put my 8 year old dog down because of a tumor my sister-in-law posted pictures of some puppies that someone was giving away.  The kids fell right in love with him.  First male dog that we have had though.  He is a mix of Chocolate labrador and Austrailian shepherd but he walks like a bear, hence the name, Koda bear.  He is super playful and huge for 7 weeks.  After a bout with worms, he is finally active and playful.  Next week he gets to meet the vet......

Finished and given

Here is a picture of the bag and the changing pad.  I put a few extra items in the bag for her.  Hope you can see the bag well enough I had to take the picture from someone else at the party....

A gift for Lisa

Two pics of the changing pad I made for my neice Lisa. Still need to bind this and finish the bag. She is having a girl but I wanted to make something that could be handed down to her kids.  Made with Moda whimsy.  I made a matching bag but was in such a rush that I forgot to take pictures.  Hopefully, I will be better about this in the future.

What can I say...I need a vacation!

These last two weeks have been nerve racking and exhausting.  Seems as though a break is not on the agenda though.  VBS is done, Travis is off on his mission trip, I have been volunteered to host a party at my house which will probably not be as clean as I would like it to be and I am totally exhausted and not wanting to do much of anything.  My dog has decided that he doesn't need to go outside to do his thing and has been doing it in the house.  ARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!  I have to finish my diaper bag and changing pad for my neices baby shower on July 3rd.  I need to bind the changing pad and make the entire bag yet.  I am still not smoking after six months but it has also played with my medications and sometimes wish that I still had the nicotine in my system so I don't have to deal with the issues of not smoking.  I am hoping to get a good nights sleep and a good start on tomorrow.  It is supposed to rain and storm most of the day and the party is at 6:00.  I pray that I get it together by then and that I don't forget plates and ice cream.  My husband has been very understanding and I am thankful for his laid back attitude.  I pray for a renewed zeal for life.
Blessing to all, Kim

Rag Quilt project update

Haven't made a tremendous amount of headway on this quilt.  Every thing is cut, stacked, and I began quilting the squares when I realized "I need a walking foot if I was going to do this right.".  I have received my little package from e-bay and hopefully will get something don on this quilt this weekend.  Pictures soon......
